The house for environmental awareness and sustainable development

The "maison du geste et du développement durable" is a modular house which meets the new environmental requirements stipulated in the "Grenelle de l'Environnement".

Corresponding to a consumption level of below or equal to 50kwh/m2/year, the level of the "Bâtiment Basse Consommation" label, as provided for in the decree of 8th May 2007, this house in a kit form, measuring 80 square metres, also has the advantage of being mobile as it was designed in the form of modules that can be transported by road or by train. From an energy point of view, the house can be completely autonomous, thanks to solar panels integrated into the roof and photovoltaic panels integrated into the walls.

Created by BENETEAU, the "maison du geste et du développement durable" is also designed to be mass-produced and therefore commercialised.

The programme consists of a roadshow to promote the house in 12 towns. The aim is to raise public awareness of sustainable development issues by introducing to them the specificities of this ecological house in a fun way.
