2011 – 2013
The aim of this conference is to study the current impacts of climate change on the gyrfalcon and its prey, to predict the results and to propose global evaluation and mitigation strategies.
The conference brings together experts from across the globe with a view to exchanging information and defining a common goal in order to:
-gain a better understanding of the difference between local, regional and global factors that affect the viability of the populations of gyrfalcons, Alpine ptarmigans and other birds of prey.
-understand the changing abundance patterns on the whole of their circumpolar distribution.
-implement a global strategy and an action plan for research on and the conservation of these species.
