Co-operation between cities for urban liquid waste treatment

2007 - 2009

Within the context of this project, the mentoring city helps the beneficiary city to set up a project within the field of sanitation. The cities of Bangkok and Makati have introduced an inexpensive and decentralized system to treat liquid waste and have accepted to become mentor cities for the project. The project is based on their experience and will enable other cities that showed interest during the last CIFAL sessions in Kuala Lumpur to benefit.

The cities of Hoots (Vietnam), Baguio (Philippines), Phnom Penh (Cambodia) and Tomohon (Indonesia) are interested in using this method initially in certain pilot areas (residences, boats, restaurants, schools, markets etc…).
